Our innovative workgroup promotes the Center for Alzheimer鈥檚 and Neurodegenerative Diseases focus to accelerate cross-disciplinary translational collaborations at BCM on Alzheimer鈥檚 disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, including use of locally-generated human subject data and similar community resources. Our goal is to facilitate cutting-edge computational and systems biology approaches to investigate targets and hypotheses emerging from experimental studies in animal or cellular models and spark new cross-disciplinary collaborations.

The CAND Computational Collaborative has a flexible meeting format including

  • 鈥淐halk talk" proposals of new project ideas
  • 鈥淲orks in progress鈥 style presentations of ongoing analyses for feedback and troubleshooting
  • Didactic sessions introducing available datasets and applicable analytic methods.

The CCC meets the first Friday of every month at 3 p.m.; the agenda is circulated by email about a week before each meeting. We invite proposals from BCM trainees nominating a specific project for engagement by our workgroup, including potential targets or pathways emerging from experimental studies.

For more information on the CCC or to submit a proposal, email Dr. Ying-Wooi Wan at yingwoow@bcm.edu.
